Russian Connection
Tracing the roots — USA
Born Avrom Hirsch Goldbogen in Minneapolis in 1909 to parents who had emigrated from Ukraine and Poland (Russian Empire), Todd grew up in the immigrant Jewish world of the Midwest and Chicago. His showmanship, his grandiosity, and his refusal to think small carry the immigrant's hunger to dazzle a country that had looked down on his parents.
