Sophie Tucker (born Sonya Kalish) was a Ukrainian-born American singer and comedian who became one of the biggest entertainment stars of the early 20th century. Known as 'The Last of the Red-Hot Mamas,' her powerful voice, risqué humour, and electrifying stage presence made her a pioneer of American popular entertainment.
