Kostyantyn Zhevago — businessman with roots in the USSR
Kostyantyn Zhevago is a Ukrainian billionaire who controls Ferrexpo — a major iron ore pellet producer listed on the London Stock Exchange — and Finance & Credit Bank (now defunct). He was one of Ukraine's richest businessmen and a long-serving Member of the Verkhovna Rada.
Tracing the roots — Poltava (Ukraine)
Born in Poltava region and building his business empire in the chaos of post-Soviet Ukrainian privatisation, Zhevago took Ferrexpo public in London — making him one of the very few Ukrainian businessmen to list a major company on the LSE. He has faced legal proceedings in multiple jurisdictions in recent years.
Poltava (Ukraine). At the time, this region was one of the fifteen republics of the Soviet Union.
